The adeptus astartes,more commonly known as the space marines, are the elite fighting corps of the Imperium, they are the ancestors of the 20 primarchs created by the Emperor, the 'gene-seeds' of these 20 primarchs were used to create their 20 different chapters which make up the Adeptus astartes. Below is a list of these chapters with details of their primarchs and their armour colouration.

Squads

Below is a list of commentaries of the different space marine squads

Space marines

The space marine infantry can be armed with a variety of weaponry from chain swords to lascannons making them the best all round fighters in the galaxy. All of the space marines have 2 special skills these are:

Shaken-When a space marine squad fails a break test, instead of fleeing they stay under control but are limited to moving only away from the enemy. They can shoot and fight hand 2 hand combat as normal but cannot follow up into the enemy, unless the enemy is already in combat with a comrade. If the squad fails a further break test before rallying, they break and flee as normal.

Rapid Fire- if a space marine squad does not move and are not engaged in hand to hand combat they may rapid fire. Each space marine may fire either a storm bolter, bolt pistol or bolt gun twice.

Unless otherwise noted, all space marines are equipped with power armour giving them a 3+ save on a D6 (six sided dice)

Tech marines

Every space marine army contain the 'priest's of the machine god', trained by the tech-priests of the adeptus mechanicus they are different from normal space marines. Because of their link with machines they have a repair skill; if a tech marine can reach a damaged vehicle or dreadnought in the turn after it's damaged he can attempt to repair one damaged location, roll a D6 (six sided dice) and refer to the chart below.

Tech-marines are extremely useful in any space marine army because it gives another chance for any vehicles

Servitors 

 Servitors are cybernetic organisms created by the tech marines; they are immune to psychology and can be used to crew vehicles making them excellent assistants for the tech-marines.

 Chaplains

 

Every space marine chapters have different rituals of battle and initiation, the chaplains see to all these arrangements. The chaplains are awe inspiring characters therefore any units within 8" of the chaplain model may retake a failed break test, as well as this the 2 usual rules apply (shaken + rapid fire) Chaplains are excellent for leading an attack because of the leadership skill.

 

Apothecaries

Apothecaries are skilled in the use of medi-kits and along with the chaplains play a key role in the preparation of the troops. With the ability to cure his comrades the apothecary is an invaluable member of any army.

 

Librarian

The psychics of a space marine force, the librarians are a useful part of any army with their selection of psychic powers they can easily destroy an entire enemy squad. The librarians also have the shaken and rapid-fire skills.

 

 Space marine scouts

Scouts are the new recruits of the marines and can infiltrate and have the dispersed formation rule. Making them excellent for speedy assaults. Scouts-being the new recruits-can not use the shaken or rapid fire rules. The scouts are excellent for taking out light infantry before they manage to take out your forces.

 

VEHICLES

A space marine army can use any imperial vehicles and vice-versa.

Rhino

Each space marine squad has a Rhino assigned to it; The Rhino is the A.P.C of the space marines and can hold 10 man size models, 5 terminators or 1 dreadnought.

Land raider

The land raider is armed with 2 sets of twin linked lascannon and 1 of twin linked heavy bolters as well as having the same transport capacity as the rhino, this is the ultimate infiltration vehicle.

Predator

The predator is armed with an autocannon and 2 lascannons making it excellent for taking out both infantry and other vehicles

Predator Annihilator

The annihilator is armed with a twin linked lascannon and the sponsons can be armed with either two lascannon or two stormbolters, making very versatile for + against most armies.

Land speeder

This skimmer has a maximum speed of 30" and with it's heavy flamer and multi-melta it's the best for quick assaults on both infantry and vehicles especially along with the pop up skill.
